Btech'29

The world promised us a perfect cinematic montage, but reality delivered pure, unscripted chaos. This is the uncut footage surviving on zero sleep, the adrenaline of pulling off massive college fests by the skin of our teeth, and the crew who dragged me through the absolute madness.

The Accidental Engineer

Biology to Binary

For years, my life followed one direction: biology books, NEET preparation, and the belief that a single exam decides everything. I took a drop year and gave it my full focus. Then the plan collapsed. A few weeks later, I was holding an admission letter for B.Tech ECE at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT). One path ended; another started without warning.

Day One

Walking into campus felt strange. During my drop year, life stayed quiet and repetitive. NSUT was crowded corridors, loud classrooms, and people who already looked comfortable. I did not. I came with one goal: stay focused, rebuild my basics in maths, and survive the first semester without getting buried under assignments, coding, and circuits.

The Unplanned Squad

That plan lasted less than a day. The most important part of college was not hidden inside orientation slides. It was the random people I met. Conversations started for small reasonsโ€”sitting nearby, asking for directions, or just getting lost together. Slowly, strangers became the squad who made the campus feel smaller and stress manageable.

THE COLLEGE JOURNEY

NSUT Vibe ๐Ÿซ

Netaji Subhas University of Technology, known as NSUT, started in 1983 as NSIT and stands in the middle of Dwarka, Delhi. A massive campus filled with crowded corridors, endless classrooms, late night society practice sessions, stressed students before exams, and people chasing completely different dreams under the same roof. This college carries its own reputation. Placements. Coding. societies. And somehow, I landed here in B.Tech ECE.

At first, everything felt unfamiliar. The pace. The people. The pressure. Most of them did not know what they were doing. Some moments became memories before I even realized their value. So let's explore the events, fests, and moments that shaped my first year at NSUT! ๐ŸŽ“

CAMPUS RHYTHMS

The Festival Season

Now letโ€™s move toward the side of engineering colleges people remember the most. The festivals. Because during fest season, NSUT stops feeling like a normal college. The same students stressed about quizzes and attendance suddenly start running entire events like professionals.

Resonanz

Probably the loudest phase of the semester. Music from every corner, dance practices outside lecture halls, crowded lawns, random singing sessions, and people gathering around performances even during normal class hours. For a few days, the campus barely sleeps.

TECH & INNOVATION

Innovision

A completely different energy. Less noise, more competition. Projects, tech events, robotics, coding rounds, startup ideas, presentations, and students trying to prove something bigger than marks. Half the campus looks sleep deprived. The other half pretends they understand the projects being explained.

CULTURAL VIBRANCY

Ethnic Day & Dandiya Night ๐ŸŒŸ

Ethnic Day turns the same engineering crowd into something unrecognizable. Traditional outfits take over the campus for photos, reels, and group pictures before sunset.

As night falls, Dandiya Night lights up the campus. Loud music and massive Garba circles form, where even beginners start playing like professionals after ten minutes.

THE MOKSHA LEGEND

Moksha

And finally, the fest everyone waits for. Moksha. The biggest name. The biggest crowd. The fest seniors describe like some legendary event every fresher dreams about attending at least once. But for our batch, Moksha got cancelled. Strangely, that made people talk about it even more.

Permanent Memories

Still, the memories stayed. The backstage chaos, late night preparations, random campus walks during fest season, shouting crowds near stages, and those small moments that somehow became permanent memories. So now, letโ€™s relive some of those moments and views from the festivals we experienced at NSUT.

Beyond Classrooms: The Crew ๐Ÿค

The Unwritten Chapter: Friends ๐Ÿ‘ฌ

And now comes the part people carry long after college ends. Friends. Because after a point, nobody remembers every lecture or assignment. People remember who sat beside them during the worst days, who stayed during breakdowns before exams, and who turned ordinary moments into stories.

Core Committee ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

The Core Squad ๐ŸŒŸ

College friendships are complicatedโ€”some competition, some convenience. Finding genuine connections here is rare. But somewhere between crowded fests and random walks, I found my squad. A group that made boring lectures funny and stressful days manageable.

Core Committee
Core Committee ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

Letโ€™s turn the page and meet the characters! ๐Ÿ“–

9

The Core Crew: Kabir ๐Ÿ“š

Badly Balanced, Perfectly Synced ๐Ÿค

Every college group has different characters. Somehow, our group ended up feeling like a badly balanced team that still works perfectly together.

The Multi-Tasker

Thereโ€™s Kabir. The guy who somehow manages everything at onceโ€”societies, events, academics, class performance. The type of person who looks stressed all the time but still ends up topping somewhere. Nobody understands how he balances six different things together without collapsing.

Kabir

10

The Core Crew: Mayank ๐ŸŽฎ

The Medical Gamer

Then comes Mayank. The gamer of the group. Half his personality runs on games and random online references.

Somehow, students from the medical side know him more than people from engineering itself. Nobody knows how. Nobody questions it anymore.

Mayank
Mayank: Gamer ๐ŸŽฎ
11

The Core Crew: Chirag ๐Ÿ‘€

The Silent Legend

And then we have Chirag. Probably the quietest person in the group. He stays away from noise, crowds, and unnecessary attention. In class, he looks like the type who would disappear after attendance.

But online? Complete personality shift. Especially on Instagram ๐Ÿ‘€

"Some internal jokes are better left unexplained."

Chirag

12

Gaming Sessions ๐Ÿš€

Rocket League & Night Walks

Us together: a group held together by random campus walks, useless conversations, assignment panic, and Rocket League matches that became our stress therapy.

One match starts for โ€œfive minutesโ€ and suddenly half the night disappears. Maybe thatโ€™s why college groups are never plannedโ€”they slowly happen.

My Mahila Mitar ๐ŸŒธ

Different Energy, Perfect Balance โœจ

And now, after meeting the Core Crew, letโ€™s move toward the side of college life nobody talks about enough. The people who slowly become part of your everyday routine without even realizing it.

Good female friends make life better, bringing balance and peace into the campus chaos. Maybe Zakir Khan was rightโ€”every guy deserves female friends who bring harmony and honesty. ๐ŸŒŸ

Sia: Overthinking Topper ๐Ÿ‘‘

Full Panic, Full Confidence

One minute sheโ€™s stressing over marks, deadlines, or things nobody else even noticed. Next minute, sheโ€™s scoring better than everyone again. Full panic mode before exams. Full confidence after results.

But honestly, sheโ€™s one of those friends who changes the mood of the whole group without trying too hard. Random reactions, nonstop arguments, dramatic hunger complaints, and energy levels that stay high even during the worst college days.

The Golden Rule ๐Ÿ•

Never delay food plans around her. Because hungry Sia is a completely different species.

Sia
Sia ๐Ÿ•
15

Ridha: High Loyalty ๐ŸŽฌ

Low Confidence, High Loyalty

The type who overthinks every small situation before it even happens. Presentation? Stress. Viva? Stress. Random attendance issue? More stress.

But behind all that panic is probably one of the calmest listeners in the group. The person who stays during long conversations, useless rants, and random overthinking sessions without getting tired of them.

Unofficial Reel Partner ๐Ÿ“ฑ

And somewhere between all that chaos, she also became my unofficial reel partner.

Ridha
Ridha ๐ŸŽฌ
16

Sara: Silent Artist ๐Ÿ“ธ

The Silent Observer

While everyone else keeps talking, she quietly observes everything happening around her. Camera in hand, noticing moments nobody else even realizes are important. Half the memories saved in galleries probably exist because she captured them first.

Less talking.  โ€ข  More observing.  โ€ข  Maximum talent.

Sara

17

Kinshuki: Corporate Topper ๐Ÿ’ผ

The Corporate Coordinator

Assignments done on time. Presentations handled perfectly. TNP coordinator work managed like she already works in a company instead of attending college. While the rest of us survive through last minute panic, she somehow keeps everything organized.

Different Chaos, One Family

Different personalities. Different chaos. Different levels of drama. But together, they became one of the best parts of my first year.

Beyond the Group ๐ŸŒŸ

Khushi and Vaishnavi
Khushi & Vaishnavi ๐Ÿ‘ญ

Khushi: Different Group, Same Comfort ๐ŸŒธ

We were never in the same circle or sat together daily, but conversations with her always felt effortless. The kind of friend who appears randomly in your day and instantly improves your mood without any drama. Different routines, different groups, but still a truly wonderful friend.

Vaishnavi
Vaishnavi ๐Ÿ‘‘

Vaishnavi: The Savage Queen ๐Ÿ‘‘

Recently upgraded to IT branch and carrying high confidence. Every conversation with her is riskyโ€”a normal sentence will turn into a savage personal roast disguised as a joke. But behind that killer timing is someone who keeps conversations alive with loud energy, sarcasm, and pure fun.

19

The Cricket Gang ๐Ÿ

The group that kept first year alive between assignments, exams, and attendance warnings.

Because no matter how stressful college got, one thing stayed fixed. Cricket had to happen. Scorching heat, upcoming exams, incomplete assignments, nothing mattered. If enough people were free for one match, the plan was already confirmed.

Arsh Pratap Singh: The "Duck Master" ๐Ÿฆ†

The confidence always arrives before the runs do. Full professional cricketer entry, aggressive batting stance, motivational dialogue before the matchโ€ฆ and sometimes back to the pavilion in two balls. But somehow, the entertainment value never drops.

Suleman: The Fast Bowler โšก

Full speed run-up, serious expressions, and the type of bowling action that makes even tennis ball matches feel international. Half the team depends on his wickets. The other half just tries to survive his bouncers.

Himanshu: The "Hard Hitter" ๐Ÿ’ฅ

No calculations. No defense. Only violence. If the ball lands near him, thereโ€™s a high chance someone outside the ground becomes the fielder.

20

The Cricket Gang ๐Ÿ

Suraj: The Rising Star ๐ŸŒŸ

Still learning cricket, still missing catches, still getting confused about field placementsโ€ฆ but improving match after match like the main character of a sports movie nobody expected to perform well in the beginning.

Vidul: The Silent Weapon ๐Ÿคซ

The left arm bowler with the most camera shy personality in the group. The type who disappears the moment photos start happening. Quiet off the field, dangerous with the ball in hand.

Anurag ๐Ÿ

Cricket Gang ๐Ÿ†

Some play for fun, some play to win. We mostly played because cricket somehow fixed every bad college day for a while. One match. One sunset. One more memory added to first year. ๐ŸŒ…โค๏ธ

ECE-2 Friends ๐Ÿงก

And then there are some friendships that never depended on sections, classrooms, or daily attendance. These are my ECE-2 friends.

The people I met during the very beginning of college, when everything still felt unfamiliar. Same branch, same starting phase, same confusion about college life. But as college moved forward, sections changed and routines separated.

First branch, first buddies, forever connection. โšก

Parallel Lines ๐ŸŽ“

We met less, talked less. But the comfort never changed.

Some friendships are like parallel lines in collegeโ€”different classrooms, different schedules, different groups. Still moving side by side in their own way.

Whenever we met again in corridors, fests, labs, or random campus moments, it never felt awkward. It always felt like the conversation had only paused for a while.

Not every important friendship needs daily presence. Some people stay important even after becoming part of a different routine.

The End of Chapter One ๐ŸŒ…

And slowly, somewhere between crowded lectures, late-night tea walks, cricket matches in the scorching heat, random canteen conversations, attendance panic, and thousands of tiny unscripted moments... my first year at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) came to an end.

What started with hesitation, confusion, and drop-year exhaustion slowly transformed into a scrapbook of memories that I know I will look back on with a smile years later.

NSUT gave me much more than just a college degree and technical subjects. It gave me a crew that stood by me during my worst days, stories of pulling off fests by the skin of our teeth, failures that taught me how to bounce back, inside jokes, late-night overthinking sessions, and moments that looked completely normal while living them, but now feel extremely important while writing them down.

29

People Make Places ๐Ÿ’ซ

And somewhere during this beautiful, chaotic journey, I realized something truly important.

"Places do not become special because of grand buildings, lush campuses, or dazzling fest lights. People make places memorable."

A normal classroom becomes significant because of the people sitting beside you. A random campus corner becomes unforgettable because of the conversations that happened there. A stressful year becomes beautiful because of the people who lived every single day of it with you.

Maybe college life never looks exactly like the movies we grew up watching. But sometimes, during organic evening walks around Dwarka, during freezing winter jamming sessions, during shared laughter inside messy classrooms, or while sitting silently with friends after an exhausting day... it feels close enough.

This was my first year at NSUT. One chapter finished. A lifetime of stories still left to write. See you somewhere between the next memories! ๐ŸŒ…โค๏ธ
